MICHIGAN MERMAIDS
As a painter and photographer, my biggest inspiration has always been the human form in nature. My newest large scale work is a three piece series called “Michigan Mermaids”. The idea came to me after winning Artprize for eight photos depicting animals in human form across the stark Michigan winter landscape. Lake Michigan is one of my sacred places and I again began to imagine a human form on the shore. I enlisted the help of my fellow ballet dancers to be transformed into Michigan Mermaids - each revealing the lake through its glorious seasons.
